Are magic mushrooms legal in British Columbia?

Psilocybin is a controlled substance under federal law, so the rules in British Columbia are the same as everywhere in Canada: buying, selling and possessing magic mushrooms is illegal without a federal exemption. B.C.'s decriminalization pilot, which ended on January 31, 2026, never included psilocybin, and the mushroom storefronts in Vancouver and Victoria have no licence to sell.
